Mystery Man

A quiet man, a mysterious man, a man of little notoriety.
In the quiet town, he remains a silent witness to all goings on.
He sees everything, he knows everything, but no one knows him.
At the crack of dawn when the dew is fresh, he is there.
At noon when people go out to lunch, he is there.
At night when the town drifts into sleep, he is there.
He knows of the dangers of the outside world, shading the town from them.
He knows the thoughts of the common working man.
He is the all knowing figure that looks over the town.
The man of mystery, but also the man of protection.

  1. Such telling descriptors here...

    a man of little notoriety
    a silent witness
    common working man
    all knowing

I'd love to hear more about your inspiration...

  2. I'm not really sure why I thought of the concept, but after I finished, I remembered that when I was younger, there was a kid in my class who never really talked, but I would always see him when I least expected to. Maybe I was subconsciously thinking back to then.
